Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Instead of players finding the spot we want to timelapse, going through each half-hour timestamp and saving the image, why not have a button in historical mode that does all of that for the user.
I think what you can do is to implement a feature button that locks in your screen on the canvas, making your zoom in/out setting and your x/y position lock in on historical mode. Once you have your zoom and x/y settings set you can use the calendar to select what dates and timestamps you want to select to be in the timelapse.
I don't know how performance of the site will be with this feature, but to make sure no crashes happen maybe make it to where you can do 1-week timelapses max at a time.
Not everyone knows how to code especially all the kids on ppf, plus it makes it easier for everyone else to use in case their PC is not compatible with all the plugins needed for it. Also not everyone would want to download python if they just like to make pixel arts and video content
